National Interest v Personal Interest. What defines who you are? You might not have a PPE sized trust fund or a fancy yacht to sail away on, but please do think of ways you can support local and national campaigns. Just like these two below.

Had an insightful Teams chat today with Steve Kuhn, the driving force behind ShareBuilt. Their mission of weaving the goodwill and expertise of the AEC community into the fabric of nonprofits in need is making waves.. Here at Perera Construction, we're no strangers to the call of community service, always seeking avenues to give back. Our exchange spotlighted the transformative role Procore Technologies plays in the nonprofit landscape. This isn't merely about lending a hand—it's about reshaping the playbook. Under the visionary leadership of Tooey Courtemanche, Procore is charting a path towards a new era. An era where nonprofits, paired with their AEC counterparts, can unlock unmatched collaboration, ensuring every dollar has a broader reach and a louder echo.A big shout-out to #ShareBuilt and to all the nonprofits reaping the rewards of this initiative. Procore, your generosity is not just appreciated—it's revolutionar. 🚀 #givingback #gamechanger

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity to transform communities and the world. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give. GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity and equity around the globeInterested in becoming a Partner or Sponsor?Giving Tuesday Partners are Individual and families, Religious Group, Community Group, Charities, Social Enterprises, Companies, Brands, Schools and Universities. Happy Red Friday! Let's make it a GREEN Friday for just a couple of minutes though. I had a Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City Board meeting this week. During that board meeting, we talked about this graphic. The purpose of the JEDI board is to find creative ways to bring potential Bigs, Match Makers, and companies into the BBBS family so that we can remove green pins. Every green marker you see is a Little who wants someone to mentor them. A Little who wants an additional positive influence in their life. That wants to be introduced to new experiences, outlooks, and possibilities. Maybe being a Big isn't ideal right now, but maybe you know someone who it would be ideal for. Maybe you know a company that would help sponsor events or matches. Maybe youre looking for a way to make an impact by just donating monthly. Maybe you have a closet full of clothes that need to be donated someplace! Ask me about BBBS. Ask me about how you can help us. There's a plethora of ways! #nonprofit #boardmemeber #ittakeslittletobebig #defendpotenital #mentorship #diversity #BBBS #BBBSKC

Lisa, I commend you for taking this issue head-on! While we having this conversation, can we also address the endless restrictions and complications around any money received. Our focus needs to be on improving the lives of people not on endless paperwork created to satisfy lawyers and the bureaucracy!

Today is Giving Tuesday the unofficial start of the year end fundraising season. I encourage you to give a donation today to your favorite nonprofit organization(s) to support this day of giving.Over the past couple of weeks I have given exposure to what I call "hidden gem" organizations. They are smaller nonprofits, many of these startups formed within the past 5 years. If small business is the engine that keeps the economy going, these "hidden gem" organizations help make our society better by providing services and working on the issues facing our disadvantaged citizens. The organizations that I mentioned are the following:New Mexico Victims Rights ProjectHole in the Heart FoundationPeopleWorks-NMAlbuquerque Speech Language Hearing CenterNew Mexico Caregivers CoalitionFamily Caregiver Center of New MexicoEndorphin Power CompanyNew Mexico Reentry CenterGlobal Give A BookThis is just a small sample of organization here in New Mexico making a difference. There are so many others. The good news is that since Giving Tuesday is the start of the year end fundraising season, i may have time to mention more organizations in December or even talk more about the ones mentioned above. My purpose in doing this was to give exposure to organizations you may not be aware of while letting you know the range of organizations in the nonprofit area. Hope you will read more about these groups and give to your favorite organization between now and December 31.#givingtuesday #givingtuesday2023 #nonprofit #nonprofits #fundraising #newmexico #nonprofitorganization
